The symposium was proceeded with the topic, “From Nanosecond to Picosecond laser” targeting dermatologists who attended from Asian countries including Singapore.
A clinical comparison between picosecond lasers and nanosecond lasers including clinical effects by using picosecond laser,” PicoLO” and Q-switched Nd:YAG laser, “HELIOS III” were presented by Dr. Garnesh S. Pai and Dr. Koathy Rajartnam.
PicoLO is used for treatments of pigmentation, scar correction, tattoo removal, pore improvement, and skin rejuvenation with two wavelengths, 1064nm and 532nm and 1,000 times shorter pulse duration than nanosecond laser and high energy. One-billionth of a meter is a nanometer.
